Wake up and smell the coffee, literally, in Holualoa. This little village is situated in the heart of Kona coffee country. If you choose to find your Big Island vacation accommodations here, your alarm clock will be the fressh aroma of beans and brewing each morning. Even if you don't like coffee, the amazing aroma wiltempt you totry a bit of the fresh gourmet grinds that can be found in small coffee shops throughout the town. Holualoa is found (or lost) amid lush foliage and upland farms on the slopes of the dormant Hualalai Volcano. The town is also known as art central, and also offers art classes at the Kona Art Center. Make sure to visit a coffee farm while you are there too. But don't look for a Starbuck's, the ladies who own the shops in town would frown on that.
